What we believe in
Building 3D printed assistive devices for underserved people worldwide

Who we are

Enabling the future, also known as “e-NABLE,” is a global network of volunteers who utilize 3D printers, design skills, and personal time to provide 3D-printed upper limb prosthesis for those in need, especially to under deserved populations around the world at no cost.

e-NABLE D.C. is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit that represents the Washington D.C.-Maryland-Virginia (DMV) chapter of e-NABLE. e-NABLE D.C. also provides and donates other 3D-printed assistive devices which include but are not limited to face shields, ear savers, braille writer guides, and palm pen holders. e-NABLE D.C. participates and/or hosts educational events to promote additive manufacturing (also known as 3D printing), prosthetic making, volunteering and SCience, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) learning to students and others in the community.

Community impact during Covid-19 pandemic

When the rapidly spreading COVID-19 pandemic and a shortage of personal protective equipment (PPE) worldwide occurred,  e-NABLE volunteers  joined the global 3D-printing maker community to 3D print and distribute face shields to essential personnel, including but not limited to medical professionals, hospitals, elderly, and immunocompromised individuals.
